POZZUOLI – With a letter dated 7 June, the municipality of Pozzuoli asked the Prefect of Naples for support for the displaced. In particular, to overcome the difficulties of the many evicted citizens, linked above all to the distance from the available hotel facilities and the inadequate number of rooms, the mayor highlighted the need to provide alternative solutions for housing assistance, starting from the provision of a specific contribution for independent accommodation.
THE REQUEST – «In concert with the Regional Civil Protection, – Manzoni said – last week we urged the Prefect of Naples in this direction, also requesting an additional economic contribution for families in which there are people with disabilities. In this emergency phase, it is my duty to guarantee all citizens, especially those in fragile situations, the conciliation of life, work and care needs, facilitating their approach and adequate living conditions. The Prefect shared my request and immediately requested the National Department of Civil Protection to authorize the granting of the contribution, despite there being no declaration of national emergency. While waiting to receive consent, we are already working to find solutions that facilitate access to the measure by citizens whose properties are uninhabitable. To this end, we are proceeding with the stipulation of a specific agreement with the Caf which will assist families free of charge in completing the application forms for the provision of the contribution. The issues we are facing are many and complex. I continue to work every day – concluded the mayor – to find the best solutions to the problems of citizens who, despite the inconvenience, anxiety and worry, are showing a great sense of responsibility in this difficult moment”.
