Contu’s complaint • Terzo Binario News

“Yesterday, June 10th, a large group of ANPI representatives laid, as every year, a wreath of flowers at the monument in honor of Giacomo Matteotti, martyr of freedom.

It was the centenary of his kidnapping and assassination by the fascists, instigated by Mussolini, after the speech he held in the Chamber of Deputies to denounce the violence of the fascist party against individual militants, trade union offices, cooperatives and people’s houses.

Our city has always honored Matteotti’s memory, dedicating an important street to him and a plaque surrounded by a flowerbed. Yesterday that flowerbed was a receptacle of rubbish. It seemed that anyone who had an empty water bottle had found the right place to throw it away.

But the greatest contempt was expressed by that dog owner who made his pet poop right in front of the license plate. I don’t want to question who this person is, his moral level or his crass ignorance.

As a citizen of this city I would like those who administer it to have the same eye as me to detect ugliness and ugliness everywhere. I would like the police to be physically present to sanction the behavior of those who dishonor our city. It wouldn’t have been a bad thing if some CSP manager had taken a tour of the avenue, and at least during important anniversaries, had cleaned the places. That’s not too much to ask, is it?”
