Fifteen victories and seven defeats in the first phase, finishing in fourth place in group E, the Marche one; 11 wins out of 14 matches from then on, even if the two consecutive defeats against Virtus Roma cost them direct access to the National B. This is the season in numbers for Italservice Loreto Basket, which will be guests of Ragusa tomorrow evening for game 1 of the promotion play-off. The best of three matches will be played and Virtus, based on the draw, will be able to benefit from any “good” match at home. Before the defeat in the final against Roma, Pesaro had overcome the double obstacle represented by Senigallia and Matelica unscathed, beaten 2-0 in the quarter-finals and semi-finals. The same path, more or less, as Virtus, who after beating Milazzo and Salerno without missing a beat, had to surrender in the “beautiful” match against Capo d’Orlando, last Sunday at the Infodrive Arena.

“Pesaro is a very well-built, long, physical, talented team – analyzes coach Gianni Recupido on the eve of the match -. They have a lot of players who can put points on the scoresheet. We must be able to get rid of the monkey of disappointment, bring to the pitch our cohesion and trust in our teammates and in ourselves, which we have always demonstrated throughout the championship. Enthusiasm, then, will be crucial to being able to face the series in an optimal way.” Game 1 of the match against Italservice Loreto Pesaro will be played on Wednesday evening at 8.30pm at PalaPadua and will also be broadcast live on the website www.virtusragusabasket.it at a cost of three euros. Race-2 will be held on Sunday 15 June, at 8pm, in Pesaro. For the possible race-3 we will return to Ragusa on Thursday 20 June.
