There was great anticipation to find out the preferences of the candidates for the European elections in the Piacenza province. The most voted – as in the rest of Italy – was Giorgia Meloni (Fdi)followed by Stefano Bonaccini (Pd). For the prime minister, 13,804 votes were collected in Piacenza and its province, compared to 10,228 for the (now outgoing) president of the Emilia-Romagna region, certainly elected in Brussels.
In third place is one of the protagonists of this electoral campaign: the general Roberto Vannacci (League) obtained 4,775 votes. Fourth Paola Gazzolobefore the Piacenza people, with 3,798 preferences for the Democratic Party.
Other candidates who obtained a fair number of votes were Stefano Cavedagna (Fdi) 2,547, Antonio Tajani (Forza Italia) 1,652, Alessandro Zan (Pd) 1,324, Domenico “Mimmo” Lucano (Avs) 858, Michele Santoro (Peace, Earth and Dignity) 642 e Carlo Calenda (496).
The other candidates from Piacenza? Already mentioned by Paola Gazzolo, in Alternativa Popolare Filippo Bruschi And Marco Schenardi they stopped at 108 and 58 preferences. Paola Gori of the 5 Star Movement at 226 (the most voted among the Five Star Movement was the outgoing MEP Sabrina Pignedoli with 500).
If we broaden our gaze to the entire north-eastern constituency, which includes Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Trentino Alto Adige, in Fratelli d’Italia Prime Minister Meloni obtains 485,628 votes, Elena Donazzan 62,823 and Cavedagna 54,590.
