civitavecchia European elections

In the afternoon the results of the municipal elections; meanwhile the European elections confirm the leadership of Fratelli d’Italia above 30% in the city

If it is true, as it is, that the local elections are a completely different game, we will avoid giving a “local” meaning to the result of the European elections in Civitavecchia.

The result is now confirmed and official, awaiting the count for the municipal elections which will arrive in the early afternoon.

Fratelli d’Italia confirms itself as the city’s leading party, with a percentage higher than the national average.

Giorgia Meloni’s party reaches 31.61, slightly lower than the 33.5 obtained a year ago in the regional elections.

However, it is an excellent result which confirms the esteem of the Civitavecchio citizens towards the National Government (one in three voters is with Meloni) and goes beyond any possible criticism from the opponents.

The Democratic Party, however, enjoyed the Schlein effect and after the 12.8 obtained a year ago for the regional consultations, it rose to 18.4 in the city, reaffirming its role as the greatest alternative to the right.

This data is also supported by the growth of the Verdi-Left Alliance which in Civitaveccia incredibly rose to 6.34 without a notable historical record.

Different trend from the national debacle for the Five Star Movement which in Civitavecchia went from 12.8 a year ago to the current 14.16. Not much consolation for a party that was in city government ten years ago.

For the centre-right it is now a head to head between Forza Italia and Lega, with the ascending blue party which in the city has gone from 7.8 a year ago to 8.2. Salvini’s party, however, went down from 10.2 to 7.2.

A separate discussion must be made for Italia Viva, which in this European match is with the symbol of the United States of Europe. Obviously Marietta Tidei’s candidacy brought a result completely different from the national average, which did not reach 4%.

In the regional elections a year ago Renzi ran alongside Calenda and in Civitavecchia Italia Viva+Azione reached 10%.

Today Tidei alone brought in a nice 7.47, which unfortunately won’t be of any use.

Now we are waiting to know if these data will also be confirmed at city level, where the civic lists and, above all, the esteem towards the candidate for Mayor also play a role.
