Stefano Bonaccini superstar, Meloni second. Lucano (Avs) did well in Bologna

In his region, the one he has governed for ten years and from which he is destined to resign as soon as the election as MEP is validated, the president Stefano Bonaccini it grossed over 254 thousand
preferences; one in three, that is, of those that went to the entire Democratic Party along the Via Emilia, which nominated him as the leader in the North-East constituency. Therefore, 257 thousand preferences of over 384 thousand from the entire district, which in addition to Emilia-Romagna also held together Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Trentino Alto Adige. The governor therefore drove the party, leading it in Emilia-Romagna to surpass the Brothers of Italy by over 160 thousand votes: among the Democratic candidates, he only did better than Antonio Decaro in the southern Italian constituency, launched towards half a million preferences.

Meloni and Cavedagna (FdI) in second place

Better, it was said, than the Brothers of Italy and the prime minister Giorgia Meloniwhich in a historic red region he still brought over 166 thousand people to write his name on the ballot next to the Fdi symbol (in 2019 it stopped at 19,000, with his party stuck at 4.66%). And Fdi is still the third most voted in Emilia-Romagna: with over 46 thousand preferences, therefore still well behind the first two, Stefano Cavedagna, former group leader at Palazzo d’Accursio. The cardboard medal instead went to the general Roberto Vannacci, which with over 40 thousand preferences has led the League to be the fifth party in the region, also behind Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra and in a nosedive compared to the previous electoral round, when Matteo Salvini’s party had overtaken everyone, even the Democratic Party, with 33.77% of the votes. This time it stopped at 6.48%. The already MEP dem then took almost 34 thousand preferences Elisabetta Gualminidoubling those of Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, stuck for now under 17 thousand and also surpassed by Mimmo Lucano, leader of the Avs with over 19 thousand votes (those of Meloni in 2019, as anticipated).

Flop Vannacci

Below seven thousand votes, however, Carlo Calenda, with shares at 3.18%: Better than him too Michele Santoro with his Peace Earth Dignity and over eleven thousand preferences. In Bologna and the Metropolitan City, the three most popular candidates reflected the trend of the whole of Emilia-Romagna, but it is the positions immediately following that are decidedly different. The general
Vannacci was voted by less than eight thousand people, with the League falling to sixth party with 4.52%. Better than him, many of the Pd candidates (in order, Gualmini, Annalisa Corrado, Alessandro Zan and Antonio Mumolo, all above ten thousand preferences), as well as Mimmo Lucano, voted by over nine thousand people in Bologna and its province (where Avs is the third match). Vannacci who, among the curiosities, did not garner even one vote in the Municipality of Granarolo dell’Emilia (more than him, in the latter Municipality
from the Bolognese area, also Dorfmann Herbert from Svp) nor to Jolanda di Savoia, in the Ferrara area.

Mimmo Lucano (Avs): exploits in the city

Finally, in the city of Bologna, after the first three places always occupied by the same three candidates, in fourth place in terms of preferences Mimmo Lucano, at 6,632, for the Greens and Left Alliance, in third place with 12.39% of the votes (corresponding to over 21 thousand votes): a notable growth in the city of committees, of around eight percentage points compared to 2019, when the Greens had stopped at 8,423 total preferences and the 4.56%. Avs which was finally voted in Emilia-Romagna by 1,694 non-residents: no one like them, not even the Democratic Party, stuck at 831 votes. Only 54 non-resident votes for the Brothers of Italy, 16 for the League
