REGGIO EMILIA – Reggio Emilia has chosen Stefano Bonaccini. It was he who won the challenge between the big names in the province with 32,351 preferences. The president of Emilia Romagna who, once those elected to the European Parliament have been proclaimed, will have to resign from the leadership of the Region, received a total of 380 thousand votes in the north-eastern constituency. Behind him, on the PD list, Alessandro Zan and Alessandra Moretti, while in Reggio she placed behind Bonaccini Elisabetta Gualmini. The premier is second in terms of preferences in the province Giorgia Meloni which collected 14013, 2 million in Italy. Those collected in the Reggio Emilia area by Roberto Vannacci, the general candidate for the League, reached 4118 also significant.
If Bonaccini won the challenge among the big names, Sabrina Pignedoli of the 5 Star Movement will once again represent Reggio Emilia in Brussels, the most voted among the five stars in the north-eastern constituency with 14,906 preferences, 1573 in the province. At Buongiorno Reggio this morning he did not hide his satisfaction but also the difficulties of the Movement.
The other three Reggio citizens running for the European Parliament did not make it. Antonio Cenini with his 1414 preferences was 11th in the Forza Italia list; the socialist Daria De Luca stopped at 1053 in the north-west constituency; 1030 for Christmas Cuccurese on the list for the Green and Left Alliance in the South. Despite the personal defeat, however, Cenini did not hide his satisfaction with the performance of Forza Italia, while United States of Europe, with which De Luca ran, did not exceed the threshold.
