The University of Foggia (UNIFG) is pleased to announce the restart of the project ERASMUS – Blended Intensive Programs (BIP)which will see the collaboration with Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, and theUniversity of Sibiu, Romania. A Unifg delegation of approximately 15 people for each BIP, 8 teachers and staff and 7 students, will fly to Krakow from 9 June to 14 June, and to Sibiu from 30 June to 5 July. The project reaches its fourth and fifth edition respectively, considering previous exchanges in Turku, Finland in September 2022, in Tromsoø, Norway in May 2023 and in Seville, Spain in September 2023.

The visiting aims to develop and implement innovative and digital teaching methodologies, creating an inclusive educational environment. The University of Foggia, which is the proponent of the project, is currently carrying out new research on innovative digital teaching methodologies for inclusive teaching through Learning Sciences institute (LSI)coordinated by Prof. Giusi Antonia Toto, teacher of Didactics and Special Pedagogy. The collaboration with the Jagiellonian University and the University of Sibiu will offer opportunities for learning and exchange of best practices between teachers, researchers and students of the institutions involved. UNIFG has, therefore, asked the two foreign universities to collaborate on this project by virtue of their scientific experience in the educational field, in particular of Professor Lukasz Tomczyk and Professor Daniel Mara, in the themes of educational innovation experiences, Design Thinking and ‘Universal Design Learning.

The visit period includes in-person and online lessons both by professors of the host universities and by UNIFG teachers for professors, researchers, doctoral students and university students who will be involved in the project.

The Magnificent Rector of the University of Foggia, prof. Lorenzo Lo Muzio said: “We are proud to launch this ERASMUS+ project which represents an extraordinary opportunity to strengthen our international network and promote educational innovation. Collaboration with prestigious institutions such as Jagiellonian University and Sibiu University will further enrich our academic community.”

The Delegate for Teaching, prof. Giorgio Mori, however, said: “This program offers our students and teachers an important opportunity for growth and cultural exchange. The lessons, both virtual and in person, will allow us to explore new teaching methodologies, enriching our approach to teaching.”

There Prof. Giusi Antonia Toto, delegate of the Rector to Teacher Training and Continuing Education and Orientation, added: “Continuing education is essential to staying current and competitive in the field of education. This project will provide advanced tools and knowledge, useful not only to direct participants but also to the entire academic community through sharing the results obtained.”

There Prof. Annamaria Petito, delegate for Gender and Inclusion Policies, concluded by arguing that: “Inclusivity is at the heart of this project. The use of digital technologies and innovative teaching methodologies will help create more accessible and inclusive learning environments, ensuring equal opportunities for all students.”

The project will have a significant impact on the departments of Pedagogy and Psychology and among researchers and doctoral students in Neuroscience and Education at UNIFG. The objective is to promote an innovative teaching culture, integrating the best practices learned in the project into future teaching and research activities.
