In the aftermath of the closing of the polls for the European elections, the mayor of Reggio Calabria Giuseppe Falcomatà comments on the results of the election round through a member.
The first thought of the first citizen of Reggio obviously goes to his friend Antonio Decaro. Falcomatà states:
“Mission accomplished! Let’s go to Europe with our Antonio Decaro! More than 9 thousand preferences in Reggio Calabria, 24 thousand in Calabria, overall almost 500 thousand in the constituency. One of the highest results ever.”
Falcomatà then focuses on the results of his party in the Southern Constituency:
“The Democratic Party is the first political force in the South with almost 1.2 million of votes, which bring 5 parliamentarians to Europe. Together with Antonio, therefore, best wishes for good work also to Lucia Annunziata, Lello Topo, Pina Picierno and Sandro Ruotolo. An extraordinary result – adds the mayor – which gives us a great responsibility, even more important considering that the Democratic Party is the leading party among young people also at a national level. Around the Democratic Party and in particular in the South, with the leadership of secretary Elly Schlein, a strong government alternative must be built to an increasingly disintegrated and self-referential right”.
Falcomatà concludes:
“Greetings Good work also to the other European parliamentarians elected in Calabria: Mimmo Lucano, Giusy Princi, Pasquale Tridico and Denis Nesci. The hope is to be able to collaborate with all of them, in the name of institutional synergy, for the growth of our territory”.
