Foggia. Occupation of public land in via Podgora, people sleep on the street

Foggia. Yet another massacre in via Podgora. In addition to the usual daily rag and rubbish market, from today people have started camping out on the streets: a foreign citizen is sleeping inside a tent placed on a pavement, also limiting the passage to pedestrians.

You cannot preach solidarity towards others and then make people sleep on the streets: it is clear that there is something not working regarding the interventions of social services and the local police. The residents of the Ferrovia neighborhood continue to ask themselves how much longer this situation of degradation, accentuated by the very rare interventions of the institutions, will have to continue. It is sad to see their punctual presence at parties or inaugurations but not even an official statement – except during the electoral campaign – on the various issues concerning the Ferrovia district.

If the owners of ethnic shops tolerate the rag market or the tents placed in front of their premises, the issue is resolved immediately with a fine for occupation of public land.

The residents no longer tolerate this inaction and have begun to alert national denunciation broadcasts such as Le Iene and Striscia la Notizia.
