SARONNO – L’AZ Pneumatics triumphed with a convincing 78-57 against Cecina in the decisive match of the final of the North-West Conference of the Interregional B. Thanks to this victory, the company’s president Ezio Vaghi won the series 2-1, ensuring promotion to National B, where they will reach the Sae Scientifica Legnano.
This feat, initially unlikely in the summer of 2023, was legitimized by a season dominated by Renato Biffi’s team. The jump in category was celebrated in a packed Ronchi centre, with the fans filling every available seat and wearing their t-shirts “B Heroes”coloring the arena blue-white.
The decisive point of the 2-1 came thanks to a devastating partial in the third quarter, after a very balanced first half (still 28-27 at 15′) against the physicality of the Tuscans. Cecina held out until 40-39 in the 23rd minute, hitting from the arc and taking advantage of offensive rebounds.
