REGGIO EMILIA – The 37th edition of the will officially kick off tomorrow, Tuesday 11 June Parish basketball tournament. With the support of the Unione Sportiva La Torre and the CSI of Reggio Emilia, the organizing committee managed, once again, to organize a very respectable event. Thus, the Onde Chiare club in Reggio Emilia, on a completely renovated field, is ready to host 120 athletes from all categories (except Serie A) and from the entire province (but also from Parma, Fidenza and Modena). The Tournament will last the whole month and two matches will be played every evening, at 8pm and 9.30pm, from Monday to Thursday (in case of bad weather, we will move to the Scaruffi gym in the centre).

Eight teams on the pitch, above all the reigning champions of Santa Teresaled on the bench by Basket Jolly sporting director Davide Braglia, who will have to defend the title from fierce competition from San Giuseppe, San Terenziano, Santa Caterina, San Savino, Sant’Agostino, San Giovanni Bosco and Hospice. There will be many prominent players from the Reggio Emilia minors and beyond who will take part in this event: Folloni, Rinadi, Markovic, Sieiro, Levinskins, Astolfi, Lasagni, Longagnani, Caiti and Costoli, just to name a few. The inaugural match of the tournament will feature the champions of Santa Teresa, who will challenge Santa Caterina, followed by Ospizio-Sant’Agostino.

New this year will be the official t-shirt of the tournament, created by Reggio Sport, which will be given to all participants. The shirt, as well as remember two great friends who passed away prematurely, Samuel Dilas and Patrick Pambianchiwants to celebrate the achievement, in terms of number of editions, by the Parish Church of another historic tournament that remained in the hearts of enthusiasts, now unfortunately no longer active (the Gnaker) and, in fact, represent a hope to make the Parish Church itself the tournament longest-lived of the Reggio Emilia basketball summer.

The memory of Pambianchi and Dilas will also extend to the individual awards: the former, in fact, is named the MVP of the tournament, the latter the MVP of the final. Finally, as per tradition, part of the proceeds will be allocated to charity initiatives.
