The 2024 edition of “Operation Nostalgia” was held at the “Arechi” Stadium in Salerno, an event that brings many old glories of football to the field.

These are players who have written important pages in the history of the top championship and who, as usual, have attracted many fans from all over Italy. Several people from Molfetta took part in this great sports festival, as demonstrated by the many Instagram stories and social posts.

We expected a lot of entertainment and above all a lot of goals on the night at the Arechi Stadium, where the Operation Nostalgia rally took place, and the premises were fully respected. The match ended with a pyrotechnic 7-7 draw at the culmination of a truly exciting match full of goals, enhanced by the presence of the numerous legends who wrote the history of Italian football, who gathered on the Arechi lawn to give the 20 thousand present an unforgettable evening.

The first half of the game was literally dominated by the Super Santos, ahead at the first attack: after less than two minutes it was David Trezeguet who struck with a splendid right-footed volley following the development of an action started by a splendid opening from Totti himself. The former Juventus Frenchman then took on the role of assistman by serving the ball to Nicola Ventola to make it 2-0. The exclamation point, however, was put by Totti himself with an unexpected long-range conclusion that mocked Chimenti outside the posts. Before the break, however, the Tango reopened the game thanks to a nice placed in the corner pocket with David Di Michele, who played at Arechi from 1998 to 2001.

A flash that laid the foundations for the great comeback by Tango, which materialized in the initial segment of the second half: after Fabio Galante’s flash, it was once again Di Michele who scored the 3-3. At that point the game literally exploded and the goals literally arrived in bunches: after the back-and-forth between Jimmi Maini and Stefano Fiore, the Super Santos put the ball back on track thanks to Ventola’s second high of the evening and Davide Moscardelli’s flash.

The Tango’s new comeback was led by Di Natale and Di Napoli and finally the last two high scores, one on each side, by Maini (a brace) and Milito brought the curtain down on an exciting match, which ended in a draw.
