Mario Perri, the referee designated for the second leg of the C playoff final, has a degree in aerospace engineering and on 5 September last year he was awarded, at the end of the “Vincenzo Orlandini 2023” Memorial, in the most important party of the AIA Section of Rome 1 “Generoso Dattilo”. A coveted recognition that is awarded to those who have distinguished themselves for their associative and technical merits over the course of recent sporting seasons. Perri is a referee who has been a professional referee since 27 September 2020, almost 4 years. His first match was Lucchese-Pergolettese 3-3 in the Serie C group A championship but let’s see how the Roman whistle fared yesterday.
Perri’s precedents with Vicenza and Carrarese

Carrarese-Vicenza, slow motion cases
These are the dubious episodes. In the 17th minute, the entire Carrarese bench protested for an intervention on Finotto who ran away on the counterattack and fell to the ground just outside the area after a tackle with Sandon. According to the referee, the intervention by the red and white defender was regular but there were many doubts. In the second half the referee lets things go too far. At 12′ two red and whites on the ground (Ferrari and Rossi), then Talarico intervenes harshly on Imperiale and the referee whistles for a foul). Souls warm up. Yellow for Talarico and Della Latta. Last warnings before the 7′ of injury time for Delle Monache and just before the final whistle for Cicconi. Carrarese-Vicenza ends 1-0 with the Tuscans promoted to Serie B. Despite the seven warnings given, the referee tolerated too much on the pitch, using the whistle little.
