At the 2019 European elections, always after the final closing of the polls, the voters were 69,714 (35,833 men and 33,881 women), equal to a percentage of 36.71“.

And again: “At the 2014 European elections, there were 74,579 voters (38,347 men and 36,232 women) with a final percentage of 37.95. At the 2009 European elections there were 86,813 voters (43,457 men and 43,356 women), equal to a final percentage of 43.51. In the 2004 elections, there were 112,748 voters (56,024 men and 56,724 women), equal to a final percentage of 55.88. For the 1999 European Championships in the municipal seats of Messina a final percentage of 61.94 was recorded. When the polls closed in 1994 (there were also votes for local elections) the percentage was 74.56 percent”.

And here is the summary of the turnout: “At 11pm on Saturday 8 June, 22,434 voters with a percentage of 12.22; at 12pm on Sunday 9 June, 36,686 voters with a percentage of 19.98; and at 7pm on Sunday 9 June, 57,760 voters, equal to a percentage of 31.46″.
