TOSSICIA – The prestigious location of Podere Santa Lucia, a farm, restaurant with a multi-purpose structure, large green spaces and a playground in the countryside of Tossicia (Teramo), hosted the “Italia Wine Experience, Abruzzo Edition” yesterday.

The day, organized by Veronica Laurenza And Saula Giustocelebrated the food and wine excellence of Abruzzo, attracting a varied audience made up of curious people, enthusiasts and professionals.

Sponsored by the Consorzio Tutela Vini d’Abruzzo and supported by Fisar (delegations of Teramo, L’Aquila and Pescara), the event was created to promote the quality of the wine and gastronomic production of the region. The choice of Podere Santa Lucia was not random: the intent was to raise awareness of the accommodation capabilities of the area and its countryside, offering an immersive and complete experience to all participants.

The event had a preview on Friday evening at the Corte dei Tini, an elegant location in Villa Vomano, where the producers had the opportunity to meet the press and taste the restaurant’s specialties. Both structures, belonging to the D’Adiutorio family, represent a significant investment in the area and are only the prelude to future projects such as the opening of a hotel in Prati di Tivo.

One of the main objectives of the Italia Wine Experience was to elegantly promote the image of Abruzzo. The tasting tables surrounded by greenery created a convivial atmosphere, with particular attention to eco-sustainability: all the setups were made of cardboard, plastic-free and 100% Italian, respecting the environment with recyclable, compostable and biodegradable.

The event also offered a tribute to art with the exhibition of paintings by Annunziata Scipio, known as “Naive Grandma,” whose paintings fascinated visitors. The cuisine, supervised by the chef Matteo Di Panfilo of Podere Santa Lucia, delighted those present with dishes prepared with ingredients from the farm. Cured meats, porchetta, tagliolini with beans and pork rinds, beef stew with sauce and rings meunière were just some of the dishes on offer, accompanied by wines at the tasting tables, the fulcrum of the day en plain air.

Three masterclasses were also held with thematic sessions that explored Abruzzo’s wine production in depth: one on “Docg Colline Teramane: the Great Abruzzo in the glass”, conducted by Giuseppe IalonardiFisar Teramo delegate, one on “The Great Whites of Abruzzo” which presented a wide selection of local white wines, including Montonico, Trebbiano, Pecorino, Passerina, Cococciola and a Piwi and one on food-wine pairing at kilometer zero conducted by Saula Giusto, AIS sommelier and co-organizer of the event, who offered a food and wine tasting of gourmet dishes paired with local wines.

The day ended with a traditional dinner. The event created considerable attention on an area which, like many others, deserves to be known for its beauty and excellence. Congratulations to the organizers, the staff and the D’Adiutorio family for making this extraordinary celebration of Abruzzo food and wine possible. May it be the first of many other successful events.
