The figure of Foligno voters who went to the polls since the polls opened at 3pm on Saturday 8 June rose to 32.91%. A growth of over 12 percentage points was recorded at 12pm on Sunday 9 June (at 11pm on Saturday the turnout was 20.45%). The 30% threshold has also been exceeded in the other municipalities of the southern Umbrian valley called to renew the councils, as well as the members of the European Parliament. The best data comes from Castel Ritaldi, where almost half of those entitled to vote went to the polls, specifically 43.26%. Followed by Giano dell’Umbria with 38.44%, Campello sul Clitunno with 38.10%, Gualdo Cattaneo with 36.53%, Spello with 34.54% and Montefalco with 30.74%.
Sixty cities throughout the Green Heart of Italy are affected by the administrative measures. Among these, in particular, Perugia, among the six regional capitals to vote. From the data processed by the Ministry of the Interior, the people of Perugia who have already gone to the polls were 35.10% (on Saturday evening at 11pm it was 21.97%). Throughout Umbria, however, the turnout figure at 12pm on Sunday 9 June was 35.41%, with the province of Perugia at 35.08% and that of Terni at 37.70%.
A look also at the progress of the European Championships. There were a thousand sections distributed throughout Umbria, where the turnout at 12pm on Sunday 9 June was 29.91%, of which 31.17% in the province of Perugia and 26.26% in that of Terni. Going into detail about the municipalities of the southern Umbrian Valley, the people from Foligno who voted for the European elections amounted to 34.04%. For Campello 39.89%, for Castel Ritaldi 44.41%, for Giano dell’Umbria 39.69%, for Gualdo Cattaneo 38.26%, for Montefalco 31.02% and for Spello 35, 74%.
