Declining turnout for this electoral round, especially for the 2024 European elections, and confirmation also comes from the data recorded at 12 noon on the second day of voting: 24.34% of those entitled to vote went to the polls (almost half of the figure of the previous round when the voters at 12 were equal to 43.25% of those entitled to vote).

The percentage drops further if we look at the province of Salerno. Here the figure is also lower than the national average and is equal to 20.60% (sixteen points less than in the previous European elections when 36.44% of those entitled to vote had voted at 12pm). The trend that emerged already from the turnout data relating to 11pm last night was confirmed (14.64% at a national level, 12.19% in Salerno and its province).

The percentages improve, being higher, in the 47 municipalities called to also renew their Councils, practically double compared to where people went to the polls only for the European elections. Speaking of administrative matters: there are already those who celebrated last night. This is the case of Ottati which has only one section and only one candidate, who reached the quorum (last night at 11pm the figure was already 41.55%): Elio Guadagno was therefore confirmed as mayor. There is another curiosity that comes from the municipality of Ottati.

The oldest voter in the country, Gianni Capozzolo, 101 years old on June 30, also voted here, accompanied to the polling station by his younger brother, Attilio, who is 99 years old. A beautiful sign of respect for democracy and institutions .
