Closing bell of the school year for 150 thousand Salerno students. Educational activities ended in most schools yesterday. And it’s already time for scrutiny. At the end of the lessons there was a big party outside the institutes of the center in the capital. The classic water balloon was inevitable. Water party aside Attention has already been drawn to the end-of-school-year budgets. Ballots starting tomorrow for the admission of fifth year students to the state exam.

The provincial school office has carefully and carefully prepared the commissions that will examine the candidates for the high school diploma. The numbers: there are approximately 16,027 internal candidates, to which are added the 569 private candidates. Overall there are 395 operational commissions. Let’s start with the first written Italian test on 19 June, therefore for the graduates a few more days of reflection, study and review. The stage leading up to the high school diploma will however be represented by 17 June when the exam commissions will meet in plenary session at the schools of assignment.

But the attention of school leaders is directed to many, too many non-admissions that will be recorded in the province due to non-attendance in intermediate classes. Pursuant to Presidential Decree 122 of 2009, one of the requirements for admission to the following school year is having attended three-quarters of the personalized annual hours. And there are around 1,100 children who risk not being able to pass the voting phase because they have missed too many lessons and have not attended a sufficient number of educational activities. Guys who they far exceeded the 25% share of absences and who – except for exceptions for health reasons – will not be promoted. Boys who left school despite the warning from school directors. There are those who have not observed adequate and continuous attendance, those who have completely absented themselves from lessons.

One of the negative effects of the post-pandemic in the face of which school leaders are trying to present a common front by also asking families for support. They are in the capital 203 high school students who exceeded 50% of annual absences, in fact not scrutable. Added to these are another 54 high school and college students who have never attended school. With the final bell of the school year, the long professional period of 554 tenured Salerno teachers who will retire from September 1st comes to an end. In many schools between yesterday and Friday there were occasions of celebration and joy for the farewell to the profession of hundreds of teachers.

A an embrace of affection brought together teachers and students in a touching atmosphere. The last act for the internal teacher-commissioners of the fifth classes will be the final exam. The completion times of the state exam will vary from commission to commission depending on the calendars that will be drawn up by the presidents and the number of candidates to be examined. Among the 395 commissions communicated by the ministry, commission 15 of the Tasso high school in Salerno certainly stands out, having 59 candidates to examine, in addition to commissions 13 and 14 of the high school in Piazza San Francesco, which have 54 each.

Commission 27 of the Da Procida high school has 49 candidates, like commission 28. At the Severi di Torrione scientific high school, commission 25 has 51 candidates, while commission 26 has 49 student candidates. At the De Sanctis high school, commission 24 is made up of 50 candidates, commission 11 takes 48 candidates to the exam, commission 12 has 47, commission 20 just 43. At the Alfano I high school in via dei Mille, there are exactly 57 candidates to be examined , commission 9 has 42.
