After “The cure”, the theme at the center of the meetings of the last edition of the festival, in 2024 The Dialogues of Trani, for their XXIII edition, scheduled from the 12 to 22 Septemberhave decided to continue this path of openness to the other, to the new and the different, choosing a word full of meanings and promises of commitment for the future: Welcome.

This word, as usually happens at the Trani Dialogues, will be declined in multiple areas to seek new interpretations and paths of liberation from conventional meanings and practices. For example, in the context of new migrations, of those who flee from situations of conflict or persecution or even in the hope of a different and better life. In Italy, there are children born without the right to be Italian, but who grow up with our country as their only point of reference. Welcoming them does not just mean providing them with documents, but also a sense of belonging and inclusion. In the world of tourism, hospitality is an art that Italy has perfected over the centuries, simultaneously promoting cultural understanding and openness towards the world. Within the hospitals hospitality and care are intertwined. In the context of a welcoming justice, or restorative justice, a difficult but necessary reconciliation is promoted. Welcoming also means governing changes, such as those he is introducing artificial intelligence, an extraordinary technology that must be managed responsibly and ethically, given the consequences it has not only on our safety, but also on our cognitive, mental and emotional states. Thus knowing how to welcome the different requests that come from young generations it is fundamental for the present, not just for the future of society. And the commitment towards the climate. Also in the XXIII edition, the Trani event will bring thinkers of different orientations to the buildings and squares of the port of Trani to open a discussion on hospitality experiences gained in the medical-health, scientific, environmental, political-social, educational, ethical-philosophical, literary, artistic, making the dialogue plurality of the different voices interact.
