Rimini, 8 June 2024 – He was arrested in Albania, and is now awaiting extradition, a thirty-year-old Albanian wanted for aggravated acts of persecution, aggravated fire and serious and aggravated personal injury towards his ex-girlfriend and her new partnerfollowing events that occurred in Rimini in the summer of 2023.
The arrest warrant, issued by the Rimini investigating judge, was carried out by the Albanian police. In the background, lto a violent attack against the couple on 24 July last year, by 4 misrepresented men who after beating the couple, he had them doused in petrol threatening to set them on fire: an event that did not occur only thanks to the providential intervention of some neighbors who managed to scare away the attackers.
The investigations were conducted by Rimini flying squad. The brutal ambush was preceded by the burning of the ex-girlfriend’s car. From there an escalation towards increasingly serious facts: according to the investigators, the man had also planned to unleash a family feud to force his ex-girlfriend to return together to their country of origin to “peacefully” end the affair, purchasing a for this purpose also a plane ticket in her name.
Despite the speed of the investigationscoordinated by the Rimini Prosecutor’s Office which led to the issuing of a precautionary measure against the Albanian, the man immediately left Albania, where, however, he was arrested a few days ago.
