Fiano, Moratti, Sardone and the others
The Lombards for the European Championships they will have many faces and names to choose from, both from the world of city politics and from the world of civil society. From Palazzo Marino, the “house of the Milanese”, the councilor for the House Pierfrancesco Maran (Pd) and the city councilors Monica Romano – also Pd -, the former dem, now candidate in Action, have chosen to run for a seat in Europe Daniele Nahum and the Northern League member Silvia Sardone (already holder of a seat between Strasbourg and Brussels). Among the “former” municipal members, there are also the dem Emanuele Fiano, who during the second mandate of mayor Gabriele Albertini was group leader of the Democratic Party, and the outgoing MEP Carlo Fidanza, who at the time of mayor Letizia Moratti – also a candidate with Forza Italy – he was group leader of the Brothers of Italy (who is re-nominating him today).
From Palazzo Pirelli, seat of the regional council. the undersecretary with responsibility for sport and youth Lara Magoni (FdI) and, with the League, the councilor for Disability Elena Lucchini are running.
Big names pop up among the exes like that of Mario Mantovani, former vice-president of the Region and councilor for Health now in the ranks of the party of Giorgia Meloni and Alessandro Fermi now in the Northern League. Another well-known face is that of Paolo Alli who runs for Alternative Popular (leader of the mayor of Terni, Stefano Bandecchi) who for a long time was Roberto Formigoni’s chief of staff as well as undersecretary of Pirellone. In Pirellone, however, seat of the Regional Council, there are several well-known faces: Patrizia Baffi, candidate with FdI; colleagues from the League Alessandro Fermi, Giovanni Malanchini and Silvana Snider; the former M5S regional councilor Simone Verni. Leaving the Milanese political buildings, familiar faces are also the former president of Emergency Cecilia Strada (PD leader); the former minister Elena Bonetti (candidate with Azione); Ilaria Salis, the 39 year old detained under house arrest in Hungary and who is the leader of Avs and the mayor of Segrate Paolo Micheli (who runs with United States of Europe).
