The film festival “The pleasure of cinema” presents the film on Thursday 6 June “Mothers’ Instinct”, an American drama-thriller directed by Benoît Delhomme. The 94-minute film stars Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway in the lead roles.
Set in the 1960s, the film tells the story of two close friends, Alice (played by Jessica Chastain) and Celine (played by Anne Hathaway), who live in a quiet and harmonious neighborhood. Their lives seem perfect: successful husbands, children of the same age who play together and frequent shared celebrations. However, this serenity is shattered when a tragic accident leads to the death of Celine’s son while he is under Alice’s supervision.
From that moment on, the two friends drift apart irremediably. This traumatic event kicks off a spiral of paranoia and mutual suspicion that culminates in a ferocious psychological war between the two women. The cast also includes Anders Danielsen Lie, Josh Charles and Eamon O’Connell.
Projection details
The screening will take place in the cinema room of the Comunità di Valle located in via Rosmini 5 in Riva del Garda. The start is scheduled for 9pm. Entrance tickets cost 7 euros for full tickets and 5 euros for reduced tickets (over 65s, under 14s and students up to 25). The ticket office will open half an hour before the start of the screening.
Organization of the event
This initiative is part of the inter-municipal film festival organized by Alto Garda and Ledro valley communities, with the participation of the Municipalities of Arco, Drena, Ledro, Nago-Torbole, Riva del Garda and Tenno. The artistic direction is entrusted to the Trentino Theater Coordination.
