VITERBO – There is a city that seems to have been historically ignored in Palazzo dei Priori. It is the Viterbo of people with motor, visual, cognitive and language difficulties. But also the Viterbo of children.
The design of the urban fabric has never considered these categories, the poor maintenance of the existing buildings which worsens the use of spaces even for able-bodied people and adults becomes an impossible barrier for others.
In this ocean of insensitivity and ignorance shines the small light of the Council of Girls and Boys, of Girls and Boys.
In fact, they voted on an agenda that provides for the creation of routes in the city equipped with tools for augmentative and alternative communication, thus making public places and businesses more accessible for children and people with motor, visual, cognitive and language difficulties. . The Council asks “the adults” to allocate a 5000 euro budget for a pilot project on alternative augmentative communication to improve accessibility.
