By decree of the Dean, Professor Stelio Mangiameli, issued on 26 February, the voting for the election of the Rector of the University of Teramo was announced for Tuesday 11 June 2024, which will take place from 9.00 to 19.00.
Article 18 of the University Statute provides that «in the year of expiry of the rectoral mandate, the Dean of full professors calls the elections and sets them to take place in the first twenty-one days of the month of June, in compliance with a deadline of no less than sixty days prior to the date set for voting”.
The mandate of the current rector of the University of Teramo, Dino Mastrocola, will expire on October 31st.
The Rector is elected from among the ordinary professors and remains in office for six academic years.
In the electoral round, as foreseen by article 18 of the Statute, professors, researchers, as well as all technical, administrative and library staff and a representation of students will participate and will express a weighted vote, with a weight equal to a quarter.
The voters interested will be 533 in total: 262 belonging to teaching staff, 185 to technical, administrative and library staff and 86 to student representation.
Two professors who presented their candidacy for the position of Rector: Salvatore Cimini, full professor of Administrative Law of the Department of Political Sciences, and Christian Corsi, full professor of Business Economics of the Department of Communication Sciences.
