For the European elections, it is possible to vote for only one list and separate voting is not permitted. The voter can draw a mark on the symbol of the chosen list, even without indicating candidates. The names of any candidates chosen must be written on the lines printed to the right of the symbol, indicating the surname, or name and surname in case of homonymy. You can express from one to three preferences.
183,586 voters are registered to vote for the European elections, of which 86,684 men and 96,902 women, in addition to 104 voters from the list of EU citizens, of which 17 men and 87 women. The electoral office of the Municipality of Messina has provided for the subrogation of 38 presidents and 308 scrutineers. At the 2019 European elections, one president was replaced, six by the Court of Appeal, and 188 scrutineers. In the 2014 European elections, a president and 138 scrutineers were replaced, while in the 2009 European elections, 71 scrutineers were replaced.
