Important steps forward are being made towards the implementation of the new tramway which will travel along Viale Palmiro Togliatti.
The TAR of Lazio has the appeal was rejected of the applicants who came second, Ircop Spa, in the tender for the construction of the new infrastructure.
The Administrative Court recognized the regularity of the assignment of Invitalia to the winners of the tender, Pangea Scarl, as agent, and Sielte Trasporti Srl., Se.Ge.Co Srl and Dsba Srl as principals.
Now the signatures on the contracts will be formalized in order to start the actual work in the autumn.
The new tram, which will be ready by mid-2026will have a path of almost 8 kilometres, mostly along the Togliatti, thus becoming the first Roman tram line with a ring road function.
The tram, in fact, will join the A and B lines of the metro, connecting to the Subaugusta and Ponte Mammolo stations, will exchange with line C at the Parco di Centocelle stop, with the FL2 urban railway and with the future Termini-Giardinetti-Tor Vergata tramway.
Meanwhile, there are two temporary business associations (ATI) that participated in the Atac tender for the identification of the company that will take care of the executive design and construction of the new tram depot in via Gino Severini.
The tender will be awarded within this month.
“The Severini depot – explained Mobility Councilor Eugenio Patanè – will serve the Togliatti tramway and more generally the eastern quadrant, will host the Central Workshops and will therefore be the main tram maintenance center in Rome.
It will be spread over 6 hectares and will provide shelter for approximately 90 trams.
It will be equipped with a photovoltaic system – concluded the councilor – which will make it self-sufficient from an energy point of view.
Construction is expected to start in 2024 and be completed in 2026.”
