This is the one planned in Venafro for the upcoming popular holidays, i.e. the patronal celebrations of 16, 17 and 18 June with which to celebrate the Holy Martyrs Nicandro, Marciano and Daria and the appointment of 15 and 16 July in honor of the Madonna del Carmine. How much do you estimate you will spend for the two events expected by the local community? From the unofficial rumors circulating, something like around 150 thousand euros! An undoubtedly considerable figure, which is expected to be met with the voluntary offers of the Venafrans and with the lottery which offers a medium-sized car and other interesting prizes. In fact, the large party committee is working on this, continuing to reach homes, shops, offices, companies, etc. to reach the amount necessary to guarantee the various civil appointments. Among these, the evening concert on June 17th by the Neapolitan singer CLEMENTINO who will perform in the railway station square should be highlighted. The previous day, however, applause was scheduled for a traveling musical group, followed by the evening performance on the 16th by local musicians and the long-awaited musical matinee on June 18th in Piazza Cimorelli in the Mercato district of the Gran Concerto Bandistico Città di Ailano. For the civil events of the Feast of the Madonna del Carmine, the musical band and the Mirko Casadei Orchestra stand out above all, guaranteeing good music and lots of fun. Illuminations, fireworks and much more are also planned for both holidays to attract and interest. This is for civilian programs. Moving on to the religious rites of these holidays, it is underlined that the 2024 calendar of the Monastic Family of S. Angelo and SP Pio of Puglie and Molise reports for the first time the anniversary of the Patron Saint of Venafro and Protector of the Diocese of Isernia/Venafro San Nicandro on the day of June 17th, this was very much appreciated by the Venafranians, for the religious rites – it was said – the processions of June 16th and the final one on the 18th with the simulacra of the Venafrani Martyrs and the Pontifical in the Basilica on the morning of June 17th are worth mentioning. For the religious anniversary in honor of the Madonna del Carmine, the preparatory novena and the procession on 16 July, concluded by a solemn celebration, stand out in importance. These rites will be held in the Church dedicated to the Madonna of Monte Carmelo, finally restored last year after consolidation works and structural renovations. Venafro therefore prepares for the historic traditional civil celebrations and celebratory rites to honor the figures of excellence of the local faith: the Holy Martyrs Nicandro, Marciano and Daria and the Madonna del Carmine.
