It wasn’t a party. The last day of school in via Spagliardi in Parabiago ended with a attempt, even rather violent, to break in by more than 300 Maggiolini students inside the Cavalleri high school. The building, which is located a few meters from the technical institute, was promptly closed; the teachers, scared, came out and stood in front of the door, pushing the kids away and preventing the worst from happening.

The video cameras recorded everything: «I will hand over the videos to the authorities – declares the head teacher of the Cavalleri high school, Simone Finotti -. I have great respect for all kids regardless of the school they attend. But QWhat happened today is a matter of public order that must be addressed: there is no organizational method that can protect us from this worrying escalation of violence that is occurring.”

The principal had given precise instructions, postponing the exit by two hours compared to that of the Beetle, precisely to avoid problems: «From the images you can clearly see the boys who, instead of going outside, shortly after 10, change direction and intentionally head towards towards high school – details the director -: a targeted break-in attempt. They hold smoke bombs, set off firecrackers, drive scooters; they seem moved by repressed anger. There is nothing about celebration and fun. This is not acceptable: the risks to the safety and security of the children are too many. They could have come in and smashed everything, hurt themselves. Our students were scared.”

This is not a feud between schools: «During the year we collaborate, share spaces and gyms – Finotti is keen to point out – and I would like this climate of collaboration to remain until the end of the year, until the last bell. I also thank my colleague Maggiolini manager, Lucia Pacini because she was exemplary in going out and sedating the boys. However, I repeat: this has become a problem of public order and we must be determined to ensure that a situation like this can never happen again.”

The Carabinieri arrived shortly afterwards; a girl was injured in the leg by a smoke bomb.
