Florence, 7 June 2024 – It ends the electoral campaign of the mayoral candidates of Florence. The showdown begins tomorrow. Voting takes place on Saturday 8 June from 3pm to 11pm and Sunday 9 June from 7am to 11pm.

The mayoral candidate supported by the center-right Eike Schmidt he closed his campaign in front of Antonio Gramsci’s mural. “Gramsci is a very important author who concerns all Italians,” Schmidt said. And then: “I have been out and about since this morning and will perhaps be around until 11.59pm as the law allows. Based on the reactions of the Florentines, I am really happy.”
The campaign of the centre-left candidate Sara Funaro it ended with an extended dinner with the entire coalition: over 1,200 people and sixty volunteers present at Galluzzo. Funaro returned to talking about widespread healthcare: “Community houses are a fundamental response for the health of Florentines. Our desire is to make them increasingly widespread throughout the city and we have already identified other areas in which to build them, starting from San Donato a Novoli”.
The mayoral candidate for Italia Viva Stefania Saccardi he closed his election campaign at the Tepidarium of the Horticulture garden. The end of the race was marked by a hug with his first sponsor, Matteo Renzi. “We have never campaigned against it, we have tried to campaign in favor of a vision of Florence by bringing forward our solutions to the problems. We ran a campaign that seemed silent, but which moved a lot among the people, with my style, perhaps a lower profile, less social, but very present in the places where people meet.”
The mayoral candidate of the Left Project Municipality and Florence Environmentalist and Solidarity Dmitrij Gabriellovic Palagi he greeted his supporters at the public gardens in via Maragliano in San Jacopino: “Happy to close with so many people taking turns. Family afternoon with games for girls and boys, dance evening. The beer of the former GKN collective and a few hundred people who share an idea of social security made of presence. We are the Florence we want in a society ready to govern.”
