Green flags 2024: here are the child-friendly beaches in Sicily

There are 18 on the island and they represent a guide for parents looking for places where their little ones can feel good and have all the necessary services

The 2024 Green Flags in Italy are 155 and in Sicily 18. Chosen by Italian paediatricians, they represent a guide for parents looking for child-friendly beaches. There are 2,949 paediatricians involved in the project, both Italian and foreign, who have nominated the ideal seaside destinations for families, studied them and carefully selected them. All the pediatricians worked “on a voluntary basis, without compensation, profit or sponsor intervention”. Among the beaches indicated in this special ranking from 2020 there is also Porto Palo in Menfi.

Here is the guide for those with small children who want to spend a day at the seaside in the most child-friendly places.

The necessary requirements for the assignment of a green flag are: the presence of a beach, space between the umbrellas to play, water that does not immediately become high so that they can go safely into the water, presence of beach attendants, equipment dedicated to children, and entertainment opportunities for parents (shops, restaurants, bars, sports facilities).
