Editorial team – Much applause and much emotion at the ceremony for the 40 and 50 years of registration in the register of doctors-surgeons and dentists in the province of Caserta. The event took place yesterday afternoon at the Provincial Auditorium, in via Ceccano. Thirty professionals from Caserta were awarded this year with fifty years of membership. They were given a scroll and a medal. Recognition also goes to the doctors who have reached the milestone of forty years of membership. These were one hundred and fifteen. They were given a plaque.
With the winners also their family members and many friends. The President of the Order Carlo Manzi and the entire Board of Directors welcomed the guests. «It was a very important moment – said Manzi – which the Order wanted to renew while maintaining a tradition that has been consolidated over the years. A recognition to those who have practiced the medical profession for a long time and with unchanged passion, despite the difficulties deriving from an increasingly difficult and complex social, human and economic context. Certainly an important event especially for colleagues who have so honored the profession in the province of Caserta. But it was also a moment of comparison. These doctors, I like to highlight, experienced the birth of the National Health System in the field or in any case moments prior to the birth of law 833 which established it”.
Then, he highlighted: «A very beautiful ceremony. Of course it was also a moving moment, especially for the older ones. This is also the beauty of being southern. Many colleagues were accompanied by their families, children and grandchildren. Many of them had not seen each other for a long time and thus had the opportunity to remember their past. Some were even colleagues from the university or had worked together, all happy to meet again. It is always a very emotional circumstance to see colleagues who testify to their activity, passion and vocation. Note that in the group of thirty there were only two women. A big difference if you consider that a few weeks ago on the occasion of the Hippocratic Oath more than half of the young professionals awarded were women.” «Every year I get excited. Listening to the words of colleagues with fifty years of careers strikes me a lot. Some remembered those who are no longer here and with whom they shared a study path”, the words of the vice president of the Order Pasquale Liguori.
