The Risk Monitoring Functional Center of the Lombardy region issued today, June 7, 2024a new yellow code weather alert for risk of thunderstorms. “Over Northern Italy there is a western flow at high altitude, squeezed between a large depression area over Northern Europe and an anticyclonic structure over the southern Mediterranean,” we read in the bulletin. For the day of today June 7th “Showers and thunderstorms moving quickly from West to East will be possible, determined by the infiltration of cooler air associated with the depression and the diurnal cycle. In the Alpine, Prealpine and piedmont areas, in particular the western ones, in the afternoon and evening hours there will be possible venues strong thunderstormsbut with low probability of persistent phenomena“.
For the day of Tomorrowthe weather warning issued for Lombardy continues, “will still be possible showers And temporal scattered, which may result locally intense, in transit from West to East over the Alps, Pre-Alps and foothills, but with a low probability of extensive and persistent phenomena. Isolated showers or thunderstorms will also be possible on the plain, particularly in the west“.
