It will be the outgoing mayor Carlo Masci who will open the final rush of the rallies with which the electoral campaign ends to elect, on the occasion of the administrative elections of 8 and 9 June which will be held in conjunction with the European elections, the new mayor of Pescara which will have the task of ferrying the city towards the merger with Montesilvano and Spoltore. A three-year council which, in addition to normal administration, will also be accompanied by work to ensure that the new Pescara is born with the right conditions.

New Pescara was one of the issues on which all four mayoral candidates (with Carlo Masci attempting an encore are the civic Domenico Pettinari, Carlo Costantini for the centre-left and Gianluca Fusilli for the United States of Europe list), have focused on the electoral campaign and it will certainly also be on the stages of the three rallies that will take place in the city on the last day (Friday 7 June) in which they will be able to speak to the city they want to manage: from midnight, in fact, electoral silence will descend.

As mentioned, Masci will open the last dance and at 5pm he will be at the Madonnina del Porto with at his side the Foreign Minister and candidate in the European elections as well as national secretary of Forza Italia Antonio Tajani, the outgoing mayor’s party. Six lists support him, that is, in addition to Forza Italia, Fratelli d’Italia, Lega, Pescara Futura, Masci mayor for Pescara Unica and Udc.

Costantini instead gives the appointment in Piazza Muzii, the same choice when he presented his lists, at 6.30pm. With him on stage there will be regional councilor Luciano D’Amico who challenged the re-elected president of the centre-right Marco Marsilio in the last regional elections and who today leads the opposition from the benches of the Hemicycle building. Costantini’s electoral race will be flanked by Pd, M5s, Alleanza Verdi-Left-Radici in Comune and the civic lists “Carlo Costantini mayor of Pescara” and “For You We Will Make Pescara Great”.

Then the third rally, that of the former vice president of the regional council Domenico Pettinari who built a civic project to face the challenge of the municipal elections. A project with which he distanced himself from both the centre-right and the centre-left with which, in the event of a run-off and his non-election, he assured, he would not make any deal. Two lists support him: Pettinari Mayor and Citizens for Pescara. The appointment with him is in the main square of the city, namely Piazza Salotto, at 9pm.

No electoral rally however for Fusilli who entered the electoral race with the United States of Europe list a few days after filing the lists. A choice made following the vetoes, he himself explained, explaining the reason for his choice, imposed by the centre-left coalition. One last day he will spend in the neighborhoods, meeting people to present his program and try, like everyone else, to convince especially the undecided.

In short, just before midnight the games will be over for the candidates, at least those of the electoral campaign. On Saturday the 8th the real one will open and it will be played inside a ballot box and only on Monday the 10th when the counting will take place will we know whether there will be a run-off and between who will therefore have a return to the vote two weeks later, or victory in the first round of one of the candidates. What the outgoing mayor Carlo Masci is focusing on above all.
