On Thursday 30 May the Municipal Council of Velletri approved the changes to the project relating to the construction of the municipal swimming pool, which will be built in the area of Pala Bandinelli. The mayor himself announced it Ascanio Cascellawho reiterated that the works should be completed approximately by the end of 2025.
The idea of a new municipal swimming pool was born with the old council of mayor Orlando Pocci, who in April 2022 had submitted an application to participate for the construction of a swimming facility. In August the Municipality of Velletri was admitted to financing with funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, and was able to include the new swimming pool in the three-year program of public works 2022-2023-2024.
In December 2022, the task of drafting the Technical-Economic Feasibility Study and definitive design relating to the “Construction of a municipal swimming facility” was entrusted toArch. Filippo Fanelliwho designed a work whose modifications were completed in recent months.
According to what is written in the resolution, the swimming facility foresees a total expense of €2,936,602.55, financed through the funds of the Next Generation EU Plan (or PNRR). To these it will then be necessary to add the economic resources necessary for the co-financing of a further €438,602.55, which will be identified with a subsequent deed through the use of a budget change, or through loan devolution.
Already in recent days the Councilor for Public Works Fausto Servadio had anticipated that there would be news soon about the public pool of the PalaBandinelli, whose work should start in the next few months and whose completion is currently scheduled for the end of next year.
The municipal swimming facility is just one of the projects that will be built in the coming months also thanks to funding from the PNRR: those of renovation of the historic center of Velletriof the area around San Clemente in view of Jubileeof the car park on Via Madre Teresa di Calcuttaof the new Covered Market or of theFormer slaughterhousejust to name a few.
