Arezzo, 7 June 2024 – Two Italian medals close the sporting season of Taekwondo Center Arezzo.

The Arezzo club took to the tatami in the evocative setting of the Foro Italico in Rome for a double event that brought together thousands of male and female athletes from across the peninsula, competing first in the international youth tournament Kim&Liù and then in the national championship for regional representatives Olympic Dream Cup.

The final balance is particularly positive by virtue of the achievement of a bronze in each of the two events which certifies the quality of the preparation process conducted over the course of the year by the teacher Andrea Rescigno with the children, boys and girls of the nursery of the Arezzo Taekwondo Center.

The most prestigious medal came at the Olympic Dream Cup where Sara Micera, wearing the colors of the regional representative, placed on the third step of the podium in the -47kg of the Cadette category after a journey in which she won three matches against peers from other regions.

The athlete from Arezzo, born in 2010, was the only one from Tuscany able to win a medal, with a good result that follows the silver celebrated at the National Championships in February with which she managed to consolidate herself among the rising promises of Italian youth taekwondo.

The Arezzo Taekwondo Center also emerged as the most represented club in the Tuscany team with seven other athletes who fought in different categories, gaining a positive experience of comparison and growth: in fact, Matteo Vincigliati was also called up to the Cadets in the – 33kg, Edoardo Rinaldi in -37kg, Mattia Cantucci in -37kg and Sara Steccato -44kg, while among the Juniors Francesco Nofri fought in -51kg and Lorenzo Franchi and Mattia Martini in -55kg.

Particular satisfaction also came from the Kim&Liù international tournament where the Arezzo company made its debut in Forme, the taekwondo specialty where fighting against an imaginary opponent is simulated through the execution of a series of kicking, arm and step techniques coded.

The one who emerged was Samuele Rescigno from 2018 who was the protagonist of an excellent performance which was awarded with the bronze medal in the Beginner category, but the performances of Michelangelo Falsini and Asia Rescigno were also excellent and deserved the eighth place.

«We are enthusiastic about the results achieved at various levels – comments maestro Andrea Rescigno. – The Kim&Liù gave strong emotions to some of our youngest athletes, while the Olympic Dream Cup was characterized by the pride of having contributed to keeping the honor of Tuscan taekwondo high.”
