The hour X is approaching: Saturday 8 And Sunday 9 June 226 municipalities from Emilia-Romagna out of a total of 330 will be called to vote for 2024 local electionsin order to indicate for their cities not only a new mayor but also i future city councilors.
In addition to ours, the provincial capitals involved are Modena, Ferrara, Cesena And Forlì.
In the Reggio Emilia the municipalities to be renewed will be 31 out of 42, for a total of 434 seats on the Council to be assigned.

In the first day voting (Saturday) Polling stations will be open from 3pm to 11pmWhile Sunday 9 there will be no interruption from 7am to 11pm.
In Reggio Emilia i candidates I am the first citizen seven (all the lists here)two more than in 2019, for a total of 16 lists from which 32 councilors will also be elected. Proceeding from top to bottom in the ballot paper, the first symbol offered to the people of Reggio will be the three tricolor stars of ‘Movement for Reggio Emilia‘, under the name of Paola Soragni; then here is the coalition of Marco Massari with its civic list, Left in common, Pd, Green and Possible Europe, 5 Star Movement, United for Reggio Emilia and Action; following Civic Coalition with the proposal of Fabrizio Aguzzoli and at the bottom of the left side Giuliana Maria Reggio For Civic Alliance.
In the right half of the card the first name will be that of Vladimir Hasbi Sabillon with her list Bread, peace and work. Then Gianni Tasselli For To react and the coalition supporting Giovanni Tarquini: Fratelli d’Italia, Forza Italia and Lega in addition to its civic list.
The possibilities are Three: the first consists in drawing a mark only on the symbol of a list, thus assigning one’s preference to it and to the mayoral candidate supported by it. The split votemarking a list and the name of a candidate not connected to the list; finally, you can only vote for the desired mayor without tracing anything on any symbol of any party.
In the lines placed next to the symbols, the people of Reggio can also indicate one or two preferential votes writing the surname of no more than two candidates included in the list voted for by them. Be careful though: you cannot choose two people of the same sextherefore it will be necessary to write a male and a female otherwise the second preference will be cancelled.
The first round will elect the new mayor only if one of the seven names reaches the absolute majority of valid votes (i.e. 50% plus one).
If this does not happen, we will go back to voting for the classic ‘ballot’ on Sunday 23 June from 7am to 11pm Monday 24th from 7am to 3pm, with the choice reduced to the two candidates who obtained the highest number of votes in the first round.
The election of the mayor and the city council of Reggio Emilia falls to Italian electors and voters residing in this same municipality or in a fraction thereofas well as EU citizens residents here who have submitted request for registration on the electoral list by April 30th. Obviously, you must be of age and to exercise your right to vote you must present yourself in person at the electoral office on which you are registered.

His release occurs immediately. If the address indicated is incorrect or needs to be updated, you must call the office to verify the situation and make the necessary arrangements. In case of change of residence the Municipalityin addition to the updated registry records, sends the label to be affixed to the ballot paper by post.
Those who were registered on the electoral lists of Reggio Emilia after the last political elections of September 2022 until the beginning of January 2024 (including those who have just turned 18) and have never collected their electoral card should have received it at home with notification. If it has also arrived to those who have already collected it from the office, they will have to use the card with the most recent issue date to vote. For those who have not received it, it is necessary to contact the electoral office in via Toschi 27 in the central registry office. This office is open every morning from Monday to Saturday from 8.20am to 1pm and on Tuesday afternoons from 3pm to 5.30pm.
No appointment is necessary and extraordinary openings are also planned: Friday 7th from 8am to 6pm, Saturday 8th from 8am to 11pm and Sunday 9th from 7am to 11pm. Anyone who has taken up residence in Reggio or the Italian citizenship in the first months of 2024. Those who moved to the capital after 23 April will instead have to vote in the municipality of previous residence.
On the day before and on the two days before the elections, rallies, direct or indirect electoral propaganda meetings in public places or places open to the public, and the new display of prints, murals or other posters are prohibited.
The seats number 69 and 70 which are normally located in via Cialdini 3, in the Motti high school, are temporarily moved to the Zibordi primary school in viale Monte Grappa, 8 due to construction work.
Beyond Reggio Emiliathe other two municipalities with more than 15 thousand inhabitants in which the mayor is chosen are Casalgrande And Scandian.
The municipalities at the polls with less than 15 thousand inhabitants are Albinea; Bagnolo in Piano; Baiso; Bibbiano; Boretto; Cadelbosco di Sopra; Campagnola Emilia; Carpineti; Castelnovo ne’ Monti; Cavriago; Factory; Gattatico; Gualtieri; Guastalla; Montecchio Emilia; Novellara; Poviglio; Quattro Castella; Reggiolo; Rio Saliceto; Rolo; Rubiera; Sant’Ilario d’Enza; Toano; Vetto; Vezzano sul Crostolo; Viano; Villa Minozzo.
