LEGNANO – A celebration of sport, in the name of sharing its purest values. Next Wednesday, June 12ththe Panathlon Club La Malpensa is preparing to field the 4th edition of Panathlon Day at the Knights Playground in the Falcone e Borsellino Park in Legnano. The event, presented today, Thursday 6th, at Villa Jucker by the president of the Club Sergio La Torre with the Past President Giovanni Castiglioni (in the photo abovefrom the left) will start at 7.00 pm and will continue at the Dinner of the same Villa in via Matteotti 3, headquarters of the Legnanese family; in case of bad weather, as the organizers point out, a “plan B” is ready so as not to cancel the event.

Evening of sports and prizes

The celebration of the panathletic movement, on the 73rd anniversary of its foundation, will see performances on the basketball court open to all two women’s teams from Serie B and Cin all probability Busto Arsizio and Gallarate, however a derby under the basket which will precede the presentation of the annual awards of the Club: specifically, the Panathlon flame from 2022 dedicated to the late Sergio Allegrini, in the presence of his son AndrewFiamma who this year will be assigned to the career a Dino Meneghin. Finally, the delivery of the two Fair Play Awards: to Giovanni Cortinovisjournalist from Gazzetta dello Sport, Motosprint And The Echo of Bergamo and author of the book North West 200-The most beautiful race in the worldo, who began his career as a press officer for Pro Patrie and a great motorcycle enthusiast; and to the Legnano area Rocco Amendolaracoach of Folgore Legnano and protagonist of a touching human story who saw him close to a particularly fragile boy on his team, who then took his own life; the family was grateful to him to the point that the boy’s brother, although a superior category athlete, has since then played in the same team as him.

«Panathlon – explains Sergio La Torre – has 15 clubs in Lombardy. Ours is one of the largest: its territory of competence goes from Sesto Calende to Rho e has 50 members. We organize about ten convivial evenings a year in the name of fair play, culture and sporting ethics, as it is in our mission. Next week’s will be a follow-up to last month’s convivial, with the presentation of the Study and Sport award to Liuc student Linda Lischetti.
