Avellino, the Democratic Party relaunches the challenge on safety and legality

Avellino

Security and legality in the city were at the center of the meeting that took place this morning on the theme “Avellino, security and legality between present and future”.

“Security for us is not a cost, but an opportunity that we give to citizens – said Nando Romano, PD provincial manager for safety and legality and candidate for the office of municipal councilor in Avellino -. Being a man of institutions, I wanted to have this meeting here, in the institution of the Democratic Party, where the commitment that is made is above all of the institution itself. Each place must be given due consideration. Obviously we are talking about the city of Avellino, which is experiencing a moment of difficulty and rebirth. The fundamental proposal is to create a structure that is available to citizens, which the mayoral candidate and I have identified in the Glass House in Piazza Kennedy. It will be a meeting place with citizens, a point of reference for legality and security, where part of the municipal police will also be present.

Another proposal from Romano concerns the institution of community policing. “We must divide the suburbs into three large macro-areas – explains Romano – with employees who will carry out prevention activities on a daily basis. With the help of the municipal police and other police forces, we can really become effective in prevention activities.”

Also present at the meeting were Nello Pizza, provincial secretary of the Democratic Party, Maurizio Petracca, regional councilor, and Antonio Gengaro, candidate for mayor of Avellino.
