Saturday 8 June at 6pm, the head teacher of Itet ‘G. Garibaldi” Loana Giacalone, to the cloister of OTIUM in via XI maggio 106 Marsala, introduces the presentation of the poster book “IN BEDDRA MARSALA” a guide to visiting the city created during a PCTO laboratory project (path for transversal skills and orientation). The project, which saw the involvement twenty-two students of section A of the Business Information Systems course of the Giuseppe Garibaldi Technical, Economic and Technological Institute Of Marsala led by prof. John of Jeromewas co-designed and co-created by OTIUM Cultural Association_Ex Libris Social Library.
The students mainly attempted to get to know the city directly in various view routes: the historic center and its walls; the Giuseppe Whitaker museum and the island of Mozia; the Lilibeo Regional Archaeological Museum; the Cultural Center of San Pietro and the Garibaldi Museum; the Painting Exhibition Authority. They also visited the headquarters of the Municipal Administration to get closer to the concept of city management; Palazzo Fici, home of the Municipal Enoteca and of the Marsala Wine Road Association and the Florio Winery, to understand the importance of the production of Marsala wine and the industrial system established by the English in the city which produced, and evolved, today’s production fabric with an international distribution capacity for its products.
The project started in the winter of 2022 and completed in the spring of 2024 (for a total of 70 extracurricular teaching hours) had as its objective the creation of a final product that was a container of the entire path, in this spring our young people beautiful we saw them flourish with truly surprising determination and creativity, they developed the idea that it was necessary to put their own spin on it, express themselves with their means and their instruments and they brought out “IN BEDDRA MARSALA an essential and witty guide to Marsala.
