The Bourbonica cup, as regards the Student category, speaks only one language. That of Naturosa Bike & Co. Ragusa which, once again, colored the podium with the livery of its team. An even more surprising result if we point out that the Iblean pink avalanche did not participate in the last race of the series and, despite everything, the points accumulated allowed the Iblean athletes to safeguard their positions in the rankings. Alessia Micieli, the undisputed protagonist of the competition, won the title as first place, Giada Nascondiglio second and Erika Boscarino third. Naturosa then took part in a road race in Marsala with the rookies and students accompanied by the sports director Giampiero Pitino. The Allievi’s match was conditioned by a breakaway in which the Hyblaean patrol was unable to enter, so Caruso, Brugaletta, Spadaro and Tumino almost immediately went out of the game. Among the Rookies, however, an excellent second place for Leonardo Carbonaro, good performances from Andrea Nascondiglio, Emmanuel Brugaletta and Federico Occhipinti. Not to forget the second place among the women of Giada Nascondiglio.
At the Italian Marathon championship in Letojanni, at the starting line, in the M2 category, Angelo Battaglia placed 20th place while Marco Gurrieri took 23rd position. Also worth mentioning is Angelo Tumino’s 14th place in the M3 (in the photo the Iblean patrol). “It was – underlines the president Giuseppe Nascondiglio, referring above all to this last competition – a great challenge for our athletes, even more so because luck did not accompany them. Consider that for more than half the race Tumino had to deal with physical pain that really put him to the test, highlighting, however, the tenacity and awareness on the part of this athlete that he could aim to really do well. Gurrieri, however, was unable to use the rear brake for almost the entire race due to a mechanical failure, but, even in this circumstance, the desire to do well overcame every complication. All that remains is to congratulate them and all our athletes for the excellent performances achieved. We continue to grow and this is the most important aspect.”
