PALERMO – “We have decided to authorize the hiring of 106 ecological operators who will enter into service within the next twenty days”. He states it Giuseppe Todaropresident of the board of directors of Rapthe company that manages the collection and disposal of garbage in Palermo.

“It met this morning the Board of Directors – adds Todaro – which approved the budget proposal and decided to hire operators in view of the start of phase two of separate waste collection in a large area of ​​the city”.

The new operators, from the next few hours, they will have to show up at the offices to define the documentation, undergo medical examinations and carry out a short training course.

“We suffer every day from a lack of staff – adds Todaro – Rap’s activity is conditioned by the small workforce which in 2013 could count on 2,300 operators and today only has 1,500 available.”

“It is our intention to roll out the competition rankings soon and allow another 200 hires.”

Meanwhile, Rap is trying to make up for the collection delay of the last few days which has left tons of waste on the streets. Extraordinary interventions are planned for today’s afternoon at Zen and, at night, in Corso Pisani and in Via Emanuela Loi, Ingria, Dotto and Carmelo Onorato.
