Rain of prizes at the Knights Playground in Legnano on Wednesday 12 June with the Panathlon Club Malpensa for the 4th edition of Panathlon Dayan initiative dedicated to the celebration of the panathletic world and the sporting ethical values ​​underlying it on the 73rd anniversary of the foundation of the first club in Venice: the event will in fact be the opportunity for the presentation of the club’s annual awardsor the Fiamma Panathlon, named after Sergio Allegrini from 2022, the Giancarlo Castiglioni Award, now in its 31st edition, and two Fair Play Awards.

This year the Panathlon Flame will be awarded to the former basketball player and sports manager Dino Meneghin as a career award. The Giancarlo Castiglioni Awardinstead, dedicated to the memory of a figure who represented a real crossover between the administrative world, the association world, and that of volunteering as well as a prominent face of Bustesi skating and among the founders of the Bustesi Sports Club Association, will go to Giancarlo Agazzi: founder of Team Valle Olona and particularly involved in volunteering in Gorla Minore, Agazzi was among the creators of Valle Olona Day.

Then two Fair Play Awards. One assigned to Giovanni Cortinovisjournalist for Motosprint, Gazzetta dello Sport and Eco di Bergamo who wrote the book “North West 200 – The most beautiful race in the world”, dedicated to the road race that takes place in May in Northern Ireland, the proceeds of which were intended for the purchase of a defibrillator in the Tagliata district, a locality in the Municipality of Costa Serina. The other to Rocco Amendolaracoach of Folgore Legnano, protagonist of a dramatic story from which, however, his human side emerged “exponentially” thanks to the support given to the family of one of his young athletes who unfortunately decided to take his own life.

Obviously there is also space for sport with «a female derby in the name of fair play» between Basket Canegrate and Pro Patria Busto Arsizio, a sort of seal on the Knights Playground given the contribution of the Panathlon Club La Malpensa to its redevelopment. «This convivial – underlines the president of the club Sergio La Torre together with the past president Giovanni Castiglioni – is the sequel to the one last month which saw us award the Pemio Studio and Sport together with Liuc. Our Panathlon Club tries to be increasingly present on the field, proof of this is that last Saturday we were at the Ugo Mara Barracks in Solbiate Olona for the second edition of Nrdc ITA No Limitsa day dedicated to the world of sport and disability.”
