PADUA – The eighth edition of the Angelo Ferro Award for innovation in the social economy with the traditional awards ceremony which will reveal the names of the 5 winning organizations. The Award is promoted by Emanuela Zancan Foundation And Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo Foundationwith the support of Intesa Sanpaolo and the patronage of CSVnet, Acri and Third Sector Forum.

Which organizations are competing in the final phase of the Award? The 20 selected companies mostly come from Veneto and Lombardy (represented respectively by 5 entities in the first case and 3 entities in the second), but entities from Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Marche, Piedmont, Puglia, Sicily, Tuscany and Trentino-Alto Adige are also included in the circle of finalists. Most deal with social and socio-health interventions, but there are also entities involved in recreational and socialization activities, the environment and art and culture. They are mainly social enterprises (2 out of 5), followed in number by non-profit organizations of social utility, social promotion associations, other Third Sector bodies and private law associations and foundations. Their catchment area is provincial (45%), municipal (25%), regional (20%), national (10%) and the majority of entities can count on over ten years of activity (55%).

In the editions held so far, the Award has attracted over 1,800 nominations from all over Italy.

On June 12th, in addition to the 5 finalists who will talk about their projects, the following will speak: Gilberto Muraro (photo) – President of the Cariparo Foundation, Daniela Mapelli – Rector of the University of Padua, Sergio Bava – Corporate Sales Director Regional Management of Veneto West and Trentino Alto Adige Intesa Sanpaolo, Franca Maino – Scientific Director of Second Welfare Paths, Chiara Tommasini – President of CSVnet e Tiziano Vecchiato – President of the Emanuela Zancan Foundation. The winner will be announced Giovanni BazoliPresident Emeritus of Intesa Sanpaolo and president of the Award Jury.
