This morning, at the Gonzaga Barracks in Cuneo, the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Cuneo celebrated the anniversary of the 210th anniversary of the Foundation of the Carabinieri, which was attended by parliamentarians resident in the province and the highest civil and military authorities of the territory, as well as a representation of very young students from the Comprehensive Einaudi and Corso Soleri institutes in Cuneo.
After having paid homage to the fallen and having read the messages of good wishes from the President of the Republic and the General Commander of the Force, the Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri of Cuneo, Colonel Giuseppe Carubia, addressed those present the greetings of all the Carabinieri of the province in service and on leave.
The occasion was also favorable for taking stock of the activity carried out during the past year, first and foremost in the prevention sector, where the traditional territorial control activity was developed, with over 45 thousand patrol services and overall control of almost 185 thousand people and over 136 thousand vehicles. In this context, 15 joint patrols were carried out in the area near the border together with colleagues from the French National Gendarmerie on the basis of a protocol signed by the two Ministries of the Interior.
The Carabinieri’s commitment to raising awareness among the population about the dangers of certain criminal phenomena is also important; primarily scams against elderly people. With the younger ones, around a hundred meetings with schools on the topic of legality.
Finally, in the sector of repression, understood as a fight against common and organized crime, in the last year, all the members of the force that operated in the province arrested 326 people and reported a further 3,176, reporting a total to the Authority Judicial 14,128 crimes.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of rewards for some meritorious service activities.
