The president of the M5S Giuseppe Conte will close the electoral campaign in Palermo in view of the next European elections on 8 and 9 June. The appointment is for Friday 7th at 6.30 pm in Piazza Verdi.
“It’s time to decide – says Conte – which side to be on. On 8 and 9 June we cannot stay at home and let the transversal arms party win, which wants to put helmets and camouflage on kids instead of working for the right to a fair salary and a house. Let’s not let those who trample on the environment win. From Sicily, the part of Italy furthest from Brussels, let’s raise our heads and make ourselves feel strong. Let’s give a voice to Italy that is on the right side.”
Di Paola, “Closing the campaign in Palermo is recognition of our work”
“It is the first time – states the M5S representative for Sicily, Nuccio Di Paola – that the M5S closes an electoral campaign in Palermo. It is a clear recognition for the work carried out in our territories and for the consent that Sicily has always given to the Movement”.
“The Meloni government – continues Di Paola – has always mistreated Sicily, as demonstrated by the reform underway in Rome on differentiated autonomy which risks putting the tombstone on the development prospects of the entire South. This is why all supporters of the Movement must convince the undecided to go and vote. The pencil is the greatest weapon of protest available to everyone. A few days ago the tour of the island
A few days ago Giuseppe Conte was in Sicily where he carried out a real tour de force which began on 30 May in Catania, then in Aci Trezza in Piazza Giovanni Verga in support of the candidate for mayor of Acicastello, Alberto Bonaccorso. subsequently he was in Gela for a rally in Piazza Umberto to support the candidate Terenziano Di Stefano, in Caltanissetta in support of the outgoing M5S mayor Roberto Gambino.
The next day he went to Castelvetrano, in support of the outgoing M5S mayor Enzo Alfano. Then appointment in Corleone, Piazza Falcone and Borsellino, to push the candidate for mayor Pippo Cipriani and in Palermo at Villa Filippina. On June 1st, the only stop in Monreale in support of the mayoral candidate Filippo Parello.
The attack on Meloni “Differentiated autonomy will kill the South”
In front of an audience full of supporters, Conte opened his monologue by showing some images in which some statements by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the conflict in Ukraine were quoted. “This war could have been stopped immediately – thundered Conte – You heard our prime minister (Meloni ed.), with her pompous manner. You bet on military victory over Russia. But who gets to decide when it’s time for peace. The rulers staying in their offices or should we do it, all together?”, the five-star leader asked the public.
Then the attack on the leader of the Brothers of Italy. “Giorgia, one of the people, one of you? But how can you turn your back on the South so shamelessly. Differentiated autonomy – she added – will kill the South, we will have twenty small states, and those who are behind will remain behind. They cut the funds for work, for the South from the development and cohesion fund to put them in this madness that is Salvini’s bridge. And then, the cutting of cuts on the stability pact.
