REGGIO EMILIA – Traffic disruptions this afternoon in Calerno, where a truck overturned on its side. Via Emilia is currently closed to traffic in both directions, traffic is diverted onto secondary roads with signs on site. It happened around 3.15 pm at the roundabout which acts as a crossroads between the state road and the provincial road 111, which is the road that leads to the A1 toll booth at Campegine. The heavy vehicle was headed straight for the motorway, which overturned on its right side while rounding the roundabout. No other vehicles were involved. The accident appears to have been caused by a sudden maneuver by the driver who suddenly had to avoid a car.

The truck was transporting metal coils. Load imbalance may have contributed to the dynamics. Fortunately, the man driving was almost unharmed. In addition to the operators sent by 118, firefighters intervened on site. The traffic slowdowns were severe, the management of which was taken over by the local police officers of theVal d’Enza Union, who also intervened for the relevant findings. The truck removal operations were long. For the entire time it was necessary to modify the road system, introducing two-way traffic in the portion of the roundabout not affected by the accident.
