Unical, admission to master’s degrees begins

The university focuses on internationalisation: ten courses delivered in English which can be accessed through an online interview to also facilitate those who reside outside the region

The registration notice for the master’s degree courses at the University of Calabria has been published. This year too it will be possible to submit an application in two distinct phases: early admission, starting from today until 3 July (for 31 study courses which include it out of a total of 38 courses), and standard admission, from 29 August to 13 September.

Students who do not yet have the entrance qualification, but who will obtain it by the 2023/2024 academic year can also enrol (it will not be possible to take master’s exams before graduation). Unical thus intends to guarantee its students full continuity of their study path, avoiding the delays and interruptions that could arise in the transition from a three-year degree to a master’s degree.

A broad and diversified training offer, oriented towards the transfer of knowledge and specialist skills for correct and timely entry into the world of work. Furthermore, the University of Calabria confirms its international vocation with ten second level courses taught entirely in English. To encourage the enrollment of European and non-regional students, access to these courses will be regulated through interviews which – unlike what happened in the past – will be held electronically.

Early admission. Most of the 38 master’s degree courses have an early admission phase. The deadlines for sending the registration application to:

Training Area for Educators and Teachers – Pedagogical Sciences;
Engineering and Technology Area – Artificial intelligence and computer science (English); Chemical engineering; Civil Engineering; Electronic Engineering; Energetic engineering; Management engineering; Computer engineering; Mechanical engineering; Engineering for the environment and land safety (English); Robotics and automation engineering (English); Telecommunication engineering: smart sensing, computing and networking (English);
Medical-Health Area – Health biotechnology (English); Nutrition Science (English);
Science Area – Biodiversity and conservation of natural systems; Biology; Chemistry (English); Mathematics (English); Physics (English); Geology;
Socio-Economic Area – Data science for business strategies; Business economics and management; Business Economics; Finance and insurance (English); Political sciences and international institutions; Sciences of politics and social services; Public administration sciences; Sociology, cooperation and development; Enhancement of cultural tourism systems;
Humanities Area – Management and preservation of digital documents; Languages ​​for international communication.
Only three courses (Civil Engineering, Environmental and Land Safety Engineering and Pedagogical Sciences) allow only those who have already obtained the entrance qualification to participate in the early admission phase.

Registration procedure. Candidates who want to enroll in the master’s degree courses at the University of Calabria, after having consulted the announcement, must, if they have never done so, register on unical.esse3.cineca.it and fill in the application for participation in the competition. After enrolment, you will be able to compete for the award of scholarships and services in accordance with the “Notice of competition for the assignment of benefits and services of the right to education for the 2024/2025 academic year”, which will soon be available for consultation in the dedicated section on the portal. of the university.

Admission test. The departments provide different methods of verifying initial preparation: oral interviews or written tests, in Italian or English, language certifications. The attachment to the announcement contains detailed information for all study courses.

Foreign students. The competition notice for admission to the master’s degree courses of the University of Calabria for the academic year 2024/2025 is reserved for Italian students but also for EU and non-EU citizens regularly residing in Italy, or in possession of a residence card or a residence permit for family reasons, work or for running an individual business. The admission for non-EU foreign citizens who are not regularly residing in the country has been regulated by the Unical Admission call.

B2 English courses. The University Language Center (CLA) organizes courses in anticipation of the start of the new courses of the master’s degrees which will be delivered in English in the academic year. 2024/2025 at the University of Calabria.
