Martina Mucci scarred in Prato, her ex sentenced to 9 years

According to the Prato court, Emiliano Laurini was identified as the instigator of the punitive expedition against Martina Mucci, his 33-year-old ex-girlfriend. In February 2023, Martina was the victim of an ambush under her home, during which she was brutally beaten and scarred. Laurini, a 42-year-old bouncer, was sentenced to nine years in prison for various crimes, including disfigurement, serious injuries and family abuse. This latest accusation refers to the period in which the couple lived together.

Judge Marco Malerba has ordered that Laurini, who has been detained for over a year in the Florentine prison of Sollicciano, can serve his sentence under house arrest at his father’s house, located in southern Tuscany.

In addition to Laurini, Mattia Schininnà and Kevin Mingoia were also convicted. Schininnà physically participated in the attack together with another young man, a minor who is currently in a community. Mingoia, however, played the role of intermediary between Laurini and the perpetrators of the attack. Schininnà was sentenced to six years and eight months in prison, while Mingoia received a four-year sentence.

All the convicted attended the same gym in Scandicci, in the province of Florence. The defendants were also accused of the crime of robbery, relating to the removal of the victim’s bag immediately after the attack. However, only Kevin Mingoia was found guilty of this crime, while the others were acquitted.

The prosecutor’s office had initially requested a prison sentence of eight years and six months for Laurini. Martina Mucci, after hearing the sentence, declared: “I’m tired. The trials were a very tough experience and I prefer not to comment for now.”

This sentence marks an important turning point in the case, reflecting the gravity of the actions committed and the repercussions on the victim’s life.
