June’s Vogue Italia has freedom as its protagonist

Vogue Italia of June is an invitation to express all the freedom possible

The “Bohemian” is rhapsodic in the famous Queen song, daily life in nineteenth-century Paris by Henri Murger, intellectual for the philosopher Walter Benjamin. But it is also the official mood of the summer that awaits us, according to Vogue. The fashion and personalities of this issue in fact tell the essence of that style that has made a comeback not only in our looks but also, and above all, in our mindset. Living “bohemian” means both Relax is to dare to be ourselves always and in any case in a society that oppresses us, dictating the how-when-why of things.

Hunter Schafer personifies this very well (on her first Vogue cover!) who constantly feels inspired by everything around her, doesn’t rule out life changes, loves her friends and he doesn’t want labels: she’s tired, for example, of only being offered roles for trans people. The limits are decidedly tight for her: «I think that freedom is a feeling, the absence of restrictions», she tells us. After the days at Cannes, where she showed off sensational Italian glamour, we find her here, immortalized by the photographer Ethan James Green with the styling of her best friend and collaborator Will give. In the shots Hunter is dealing with drawing, the PlayStation, fashion, household chores… In everyday life, especially the boho one, activities and passions mix without rules, influencing each other.

And then there is Cesare Cremonini: why, you ask? As he himself tells us, he is at a point in his career where he feels like a little boat in the middle of the sea, a feeling that gives him a lot of freedom (and it seems like a good image to us). There is also a representative of the institutions, the minister Anna Maria Bernini, who recognizes the youth protest in the universities as “a sign of vitality”. What a nice compliment for those who never stop fighting to defend their ideals.

Students, but not only: those who try to fight every day to stay on the right side of history are Cecilia Sala, the youngest journalist in war zones who manages to speak to her peers in their language, the same one with which she wrote her last book, The fire. If for Sala traveling is part of her missions, for us it is also synonymous with “VanLife”. Who has never dreamed at least once in their life of running away in a camper with no destination or return date? Pure freedom.
